Purdue Animal Sciences hosts its first annual art show
The Purdue University Department of Animal Sciences hosted its first annual art show on October 29 in the lobby of the Creighton Hall of Animal Sciences.
The event showcased the talents of its students, which extend far beyond the classroom. It also demonstrates the importance creativity is in research. The art show featured a diverse array of animal-themed artwork, including paintings, drawings, photography, graphic designs and more, which were all created by students passionate about both art and animal sciences.
Ashley York, Ph.D., organized the event for students to showcase their talents.
"We have really talented students in many areas," said York, the coordinator of academic advising and student services for the department. "It was so awesome to see the participation in the event and the creativity of our students!”
Categories included painting, drawing, black and white photography, color photography, graphic design and miscellaneous pieces. The miscellaneous section allowed students to have full artistic control over what they created.
The winners of each category will be listed below, and the first place winners of each category will be permanently displayed in Creighton Hall.
