Webinar Series – Summer School for Consumer Food Safety Education

Special Webinar Series for Educators and Extension Professionals

The Food Safety Human Factor Lab within the Department of Food Science at Purdue University is hosting a webinar series this Summer!

This is an annual program organized to provide continual consumer food safety education for educators and extension volunteers through expert-led presentations. This program serves as a platform to share updated research information on current trending consumer food safety topics and understand the food safety implications of various types of foods.

The program this year will focus on these topics:

  • Understanding Recipe Validation for Home Canning: A Seafood Stock Case Study
  • Food Safety of Low-moisture Foods
  • Science, Trust, and Technology: A Global Perspective on Communicating Food Safety

Food safety specialists from land-grant universities and international agencies will provide background information on different topic areas and then participate in a question-and-answer session following their presentations.
