4-H Students Explore Aquaponics Through Virtual Reality
On June 11th, the Food Safety Human Factor Lab in the Department of Food Science welcomed Indiana high school students as part of the 4-H Academy. In collaboration with the When Blue is Green (BIG) project, the lab showcased its Aquaponic Virtual Reality (VR) Tour, offering students an immersive and interactive experience. The activity introduced virtual reality as an innovative educational tool and a creative alternative to traditional in-person farm visits. Fourteen students explored the aquaponic system while learning key food safety concepts related to aquaponic farming.
