Shelby Riley
| Senior | Noblesville, IN | Ag Communications and Ag Sales and Marketing
Shelby Riley is a senior from Noblesville,
Indiana pursuing degrees in Agricultural Communications and Agricultural Sales
and Marketing. Although she did not grow up on a production farm, her family
had horses, which led to her early involvement in 4-H. A 2012 graduate of
Hamilton Southeastern High School, she was also very active in FFA, serving in
multiple leadership roles and participating in numerous Career Development
Events, which ultimately led to her passion for agriculture. In addition to
serving as President of Purdue Ag Council, Shelby is a member of the Purdue
Livestock Judging Team, as well as Purdue Agricultural Ambassadors. She is
looking forward to serving the Purdue Agricultural Council this year as
President, and is excited for all that is ahead!

Kathleen Jacobs | Sophomore | Huntington, IN | Ag Economics and Ag Communications
Kathleen Jacobs, a sophomore studying
Agricultural Economics and Agricultural Communications, grew up in Huntington,
Indiana. Through growing up on a small grain and livestock operation as well as
her involvement in Farm Bureau, 4-H, and FFA her love for the agricultural
industry was cultivated at a young age. Along with her involvement within
Purdue Agricultural Council, Kathleen is also the Director of Promotions for
the Purdue Grand Prix Foundation and Co-Director of Recruitment for Purdue Ag
Week Task Force. In serving as Purdue Agricultural Council’s Vice President,
Kathleen is looking forward to continuing the efforts of uniting the college
and encouraging growth within the students comprising it.

Shelbi Perry | Sophomore | Chalmers, IN

Shelbi Perry is a sophomore
pursing a degree in Animal Sciences, concentrating in
Pre-Veterinary Medicine Originally from a small town, Chalmers, IN,
only 25 minutes from Purdue, her dream was always to be
a Boilermaker. Graduating Frontier Jr./Sr. High School in 2015, Shelbi
was always active in 4-H and FFA, which kick started her passion for
agriculture. While at Purdue, Shelbi is also involved in Block and Bridle and
Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, Shelbi hopes to pursue further
education, pertaining to swine research. As Secretary, Shelbi is motivated and
excited to help this organization have an even larger impact on the students of
the College of Agriculture.

Brianna Lammers | Sophomore | Huntingburg, IN | Agriculture Education
Brianna Lammers is a sophomore pursuing a degree
in Agricultural Education with a minor in Crop Science. Brianna was involved
with 4-H and FFA throughout her childhood and her involvement sparked her love
for agriculture and her future career of educating and communicating with
others about it. Along with her Ag Council activities, she is also involved in
Ag Ambassadors, IAAE-Purdue, Dean’s Scholars, Boiler Gold Rush, Sigma Alpha,
and the Purdue Wesley Foundation.
Public Relations
Heather Huizenga | Junior | DeMotte, IN | Agribussines
Heather
Huizenga is a junior studying Agribusiness Management. She is
from the small town of DeMotte located in Northwest Indiana where she didn’t
grow up on a farm like many of the other students in the college of
agriculture, but still found her love and passion for the agriculture industry.
From spending time on her grandparent’s farm as a child and then working for a
large scale farming operation during high school, she set her sights on
building a career in the agriculture industry! Heather has thoroughly been
enjoying her time here at Purdue learning from some of the best professors in
the world and having the opportunities to meet and learn from industry leaders.
Her favorite part of her college experience so far has been being an Ag Council
member. Through the leadership experiences to the friendships she’s made,
Heather will forever be grateful for this organization and is excited to see
what lies ahead serving as the Ag Council Public Relations Officer!
