Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, 1996-2012

On May 19, 1995, the Purdue Board of Trustees approved the name change from Department of Agricultural Engineering to Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The bachelor’s degree title changed as well.
Four individuals were the first to receive Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering degrees in August 1997. They were De Layne M. Fridley, Phillip J. Hall, Christopher L. Hoover, and Jane D. Schuette. The last of the 478 Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering degrees were awarded in May of 2012.
To comply with engineering accreditation directives, the Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biological Engineering degree was divided and identified as “Agricultural Engineering” and “Biological Engineering” in the 2007-09 College of Agriculture catalog. Beginning in December of 2009, degrees in both specialties were awarded.
