Community Service On October 23rd 2010, MANRRS Purdue Chapter took a trip to Indianapolis, IN to work with Seeds of Hope. Seeds of Hope is a community project that works with keeping Indianapolis Beautiful. We helped Seeds of Hope to begin planting a community garden in a neighborhood. There were trees, flowers, and vegetables planted. We also created a gravel pathway so that people could walk through the garden. We wrapped up our work around 1pm and were able to accomplish a lot. We plan on making Seeds of Hope one of our main volunteer projects each year.
Each Sunday morning after there is a home football game, MANRRS along with other Purdue clubs attend stadium clean up. This starts at 7:45am and ends around 10:30am. Someone assigns us to a section, we sweep it down, go underneath the seats and clean up the trash. This task is one of the qualifying events that are needed to go to Nationals (you must attend twice) with our MANRRS chapter. This event helps us raise money to pay for plane tickets, hotel rooms, etc. for the National Conference.
