Larry Theller

Larry is a GIS specialist with the Purdue University Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE), and the Center for Advanced Application in GIS (CAAGIS). Larry's background is in mapping and GIS analysis in the petroleum and mineral exploration industry, and includes work experience throughout North America. For ABE he performs staff training and assists faculty who teach using GIS in ABE classes. For the CAAGIS center he manages grant-funded GIS projects for the Center. Center projects provide excellent GIS training for students at both the undergrad and graduate level. Previous projects have included mapping the Indiana confined feeding operation database from aerial photos and geocoded township, range, section locations; creating GIS databases for state agencies and training programs for their use; and several community assistance efforts in wellhead protection. CAAGIS has employed over a dozen students in the last 4 years, providing them with valuable experience.
