On April 22, the College of Agriculture honored some of the year’s most outstanding students, faculty and staff during the annual Spring Awards Banquet. The virtual event was a collaborative effort between the Purdue Agricultural Council and the Office of Academic Programs.

In the 27th annual Student Soybean Innovation Competition, Cai Chen, Nate Nauman and Emmanuel Alagbe topped six other teams to claim the $20,000 prize. The competition, sponsored by the Indiana Soybean Alliance, encourages Purdue student teams to create new products or materials from soybeans.

Automated feeders record each calf’s milk intake and eating habits, while milking robots collect comprehensive production, activity and behavior data.
READ MOREFive student-athletes from Purdue University’s College of Agriculture earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition during the fall 2020 sports season. They were among 96 Purdue student-athletes to earn the title across the university.
To qualify for Academic All-Big Ten honors, student-athletes must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher while enrolled full-time. Though cross country, soccer and volleyball were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Big Ten chose to recognize eligible players.

READ MOREKatherine Krick, a rising junior in agricultural and biological engineering, was prepared to leave the U.S. for her first ever international journey this summer. Krick was one of six students nationally selected for Land O’ Lakes Global Food Challenge – Emerging Leaders for Food Security. The program typically includes an internship in one of Land O’ Lakes four divisions and two to four weeks of international travel. Krick and her cohort were slated to travel to Kenya and Rwanda for two weeks this summer.

Whether in the military, laboratory or board room, Jabaay says he was able to use the tools he acquired at Purdue to find the answer to any questions he faced.

READ MORESix student-athletes from Purdue University’s College of Agriculture have earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award for the 2019-2020 academic year. Each year, the honor is given to students on varsity rosters who maintain a grade-point average of 3.7 or higher.
Among the honorees, Tessa Sheets ranked in the top 16.5% of Big Ten Distinguished Scholars by achieving a 4.0 GPA.
