Chezem teaches Forensic Science Ethics, Rural Public Health Law and Policy, Selected Issues in Juvenile and Youth Law, and Animal Ownership and Use Law.
Chezem is a member of the Purdue University Institutional Review Board (social sciences) and serves on the Purdue University Advisory Committee on Equity. Chezem holds an adjunct appointment in Indiana University’s School of Medicine, Indiana Alcohol Research Center.
Chezem chairs the Indiana Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group. She is also a member of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Board of Trustees where she chairs the research committee.
Chezem currently serves on the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. She also consults with the U.S. Department of Justice, and Office of Justice Programs, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
