Professional Activities
I am working with my advisor in messaging research, which is how to improve behaviors through targeted (relevant) messaging. Specifically, we’ve been looking at contagious diseases. I also am a part-time teaching assistant in the department. I have been working on publications in communication and equine science; two have been accepted for publication in 2020!
Research Interest
As an incredibly inquisitive person, I have a lot of research interests. But as I progress through this program toward my goals, I’ve decided to focus on three research areas in the future: Communication within the equine industry, using messaging to improve our societies, and (one day) I plan to study the experiences of American female service members.
Thesis Title
Is protection motivation theory appropriate for improving preparedness behaviors amongst American equine owners?
