Dr. Shalamar Armstrong’s Soil Ecosystem and Nutrient Dynamics laboratory (SEND Lab) focuses on soil conservation and management, soil health, nutrient management, and water quality.
His research program influences his teaching, student interactions, and engagement with agricultural industry stakeholders, and federal and state agencies.

The S.E.N.D. lab investigates the influence of infield conservation practices through 5 interrelated areas of research: agronomics, soil health and nutrient cycling, water quality, landscape spatial and temporal variation, economics.
