Visiting Scholar Program
The Visiting Scholar Program at Purdue Corn Agronomy provides an 8-month hands-on training experience from March to November 2026, within a collaborative research team dedicated to developing sustainable corn production systems. Selected scholars will gain practical experience across diverse fields and research environments, including—but not limited to—research trial establishment, planting, in-season crop monitoring, data collection and analysis, harvesting, and participation in on-farm trials.
Scholars will work closely with graduate students, faculty, and research staff, contributing to agronomic research projects that address key areas such as planting decisions, nutrient management, crop protection, and conservation practices. Throughout the program, participants will receive mentorship and professional development opportunities designed to build both technical and scientific skills.
This program is intended as a transitional experience for individuals considering graduate school or careers in agricultural research. Exceptional scholars demonstrating strong performance, initiative, and alignment with the program's mission may be considered for future graduate research opportunities within the Purdue Agronomy Department.
We encourage highly motivated candidates with strong academic backgrounds, hands-on research experience, and a genuine interest in agronomy, crop science, or sustainable corn production to apply.
