Safe Produce Indiana serves fruit and vegetable growers and consumers in the state by educating them about the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule. In order to achieve this goal, we have gathered resources that address the FDA, the FSMA, the Produce Safety Rule, the Produce Safety Alliance, water quality and compliance training.

Safe Produce IN developed a series of videos to help growers boost safety culture, reduce contamination risk, and meet standards. The series covers cleaning, audits, records, and regulations through interactive sessions and real-world examples.

Fruit and vegetable growers are invited to join the Safe Produce Indiana team, representatives from FDA, and produce safety personnel from the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) for a FREE, hands-on workshop on February 26, 2026 from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Eastern Time at the Purdue Extension Food Safety Training Hub near Vincennes, IN. Representatives from chemical companies will also be on-site to showcase their newest products for produce growers.
