Looking foward to this year

As I have begun my sophomore year in the Agronomy department here at Purdue, I think it is good to reflect on my first year to help me contimue to find success. For starters I should intoduce myself. My name is Max Maschino, I come from a family farm in southeastern Indiana. I’ve grown up raising crops and livestock all my life, so agriculture is in my blood and I’ve always had a passion for it. That made pursuing agriculture at Purdue University a no brainer but the choice of what to study alluded me for a long time. When I came on a visit here in high school and I met with multiple departments I was interested in I felt my meeting with Agronomy the those ambassadors was unforgetable. I was interested in the content but also in the close family atmosphere in Purude Agrpnpmy and the opportunities to be involved. Now that I have been here for a year I can reflect on my somewhat hasty decision to join Agronomy. I can say today without a doubt it was the best decision I could’ve made. I have made great friends, built great relationships with faculty, and I have gotten involved and taken on leaderhsip postitions within the department. My advice to those who feel a passion for ag but dont know what to pursue, first of look into Agronomy, but If it is not for you, find somewhere that makes you feel comfortable and feel at home. I am excited to continue my journey here at Purdue. I am excited to learn new things, take on more responsibilities, and make new memories.
