Search Concluded

We are pleased to announce that after a national search, Dr. Laura Bowling will become the next Department Head for Agronomy, effective August 19, 2024.

Dr. Bowling, an exceptional member of the agronomy department and the broader university and research community, boasts a remarkable record, having received prestigious awards such as the University Faculty Scholar and the Charles B. Murphy Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award. Her tenure since 2004 and expertise in sustainable agricultural water management, underscore her significant contributions. Notably, she played a pivotal role in interdisciplinary initiatives, including the $2.4 million project in Peru. Since 2021, Dr. Bowling has been at the helm of the interdisciplinary undergraduate program in Natural Resources and Environmental Science, building upon her role as co-director since 2017.

We are enthusiastic about her exciting vision for the department's future, and the energy she will bring to her role as Department Head of Agronomy.
