Animal Caretaker Job Description
The Purdue Beef Research and Education Center is seeking qualified students to fill a part-time position. Our goal is to provide quality research while offering educational opportunities to students who have a sincere interest in beef cattle production agriculture. Applicants should be dependable, conscientious, and self-motivated with a desire to learn and take on responsibility. Good communication skills are a must. Previous cattle/farm equipment experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants should expect to work 1-2 weekends per month, and some holidays.
Daily Job Tasks include:
Feeding, herd health, animal handling, and equipment/facility maintenance. Employee will work closely with researchers, other research unit farm personnel, supervisors, and fellow employees to provide a team atmosphere conducive to quality research and education.
