Wes is an ecologist broadly interested in how environmental contaminants affect the ecology and evolution of wildlife. He obtained his Ph.D. in Ecology at the University of Georgia’s Odum School of Ecology and Savannah River Ecology Lab. He is working with Drs. Jason Hoverman and Maria Sepúlveda on projects evaluating the effects of per-/polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in aquatic ecosystems. This research integrates ecotoxicology, disease ecology, and ecosystem ecology to assess the impacts of PFAS on the health of wetlands and the wildlife that rely on them.
