Biography
Ayomide Adepeju began her Ph.D. at Purdue University in the fall of 2023 in the Ecological Sciences and Engineering program, with her home department as Agricultural and Biological Engineering. She previously earned a Master’s degree in Geographic Information Science (GIS) and Geoenvironment from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
Her research focuses on using remote sensing to map and monitor wild rice in the Great Lakes region, aiming to enhance the its resilience to climate change. Additionally, she is working on simulating the effects of groundwater storage and withdrawals in the Wabash River Basin using the Variable Infiltration Capacity Groundwater (VICGW) model to improve surface and groundwater resource management in local communities.
In her leisure time, Ayomide enjoys creating beautiful maps, reading, and spending quality moments with loved ones. She can be contacted at aadepeju@purdue.edu.
