ABOUT US

Pakistan poultry production has undergone tremendous modernization and the country currently ranks as the 8th largest poultry producer in the world. Poultry accounts for 32.7% of all meat consumed in the country and Pakistan poultry production is responsible for 1.4% of Pakistan's GDP (Economic Survey, 2017-18).

This collaboration between Purdue University, the University of the Punjab (Lahore, Pakistan), and the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (Lahore, Pakistan) is focused on developing non-antibiotic means to control infections for Pakistan’s rapidly growing poultry industry. Our goal is to develop solutions that when adopted by Pakistani poultry producers will help to ensure the health of their birds, the safety of their products, and the sustainability of their operations.

This research is possible through the financial support from UK Government – Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the Global AMR Innovation Fund (GAMRIF) and the International Development Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada.
