Almost a Senior

We are nearing the end of the 2022 spring semester here at the great Purdue University. The weather is starting to warm up, the birds are chirping again, and the spirits of many have lifted. Refreshing, motivating, and tranquil are the words that come to mind when describing the current atmosphere. However, something is a bit different this time. The next spring semester I’ll experience will be my last. A short year from now, I’ll be preparing for the cap and gown. That right there scares me to death. I’m not ready to be a senior, or at least I don’t think I’m ready. What will I do? Of course I’ll have a job that will keep me busy, a partner to come home to, and animals in the barn to care for. But it won’t be the same. It won’t be the same as coming home from class to hang out with your friends, doing some homework, and heading to the chocolate shop for some fun.

As much as I’m not ready for life as a college student to end, I’m confident that Purdue has prepared me for a successful career and fulfilling life. The lessons learned her will guide me through my challenges at home, and I will push through like any boilermaker would. I just hope my last year here will go as slow as a traffic buildup on I-65. And that can be REALLY slow!
