“Weeds are nature’s graffiti”

Summary

This week, for agronomy club, we moved off campus to collect some weeds and crops for our plant mounts. In agronomy, one of our main activities is making plant, seed, soil, and disease and damage sets. That said, we have to collect all the crops and weeds that we turn into plant mounts. ACRE is the best place for us to gather as a group to spread out and find as many weeds as possible quickly. We can find most of the weeds we need on the edges of test plots, around buildings, and in the weed garden (labeled plots of weeds for educational purposes). Agronomy Club's Plant manager is the one who has to put all of the work in before and after our collection to get everything ready. She has to find out what plants we are low on, gather all the plant books, get permission to collect weeds, have lists ready, and multiple other little things. After the plants have been dried in phone books for a couple of weeks, we turn them into study sets. This is our way to help out high schoolers and others by allowing them to purchase study materials to help prepare them for contests and various other events.
