Awards for 2023 Winter Test

The following awards were presented at the 2023 Winter Test sale on April 13, 2024. The award-winning bulls are also listed in the IBEP Hall of Fame.  Awards were presented by Steve Ritter, President, and Andrew Stewart, Vice President of IBEP. (In the photos, Steve is on the left and Andrew is on the right.)

 

The award for the top Performance Index Junior Bull was presented to Dan Stewart, Yorktown, IN. Angus bull #93 had a Performance Index of 117.7. He was sired by Deer Valley Growth Fund.

 

The top Performance Index Senior Bull and the top Sale Index Senior Bull were Angus bull #140. The awards were presented to Kevin Beckington, KB Angus, Merritt, MI. Angus bull #140 had a Performance Index of 116.6 and a Sale Index of 85.0. He was sired by G A R Home Town.

 

The award for the top Performance Index Get-of-Sire Group was presented to Andrew Stewart, Stewart Select Angus, Greensburg, IN. Angus bulls #29, 30, and 31 had an average Performance Index of 108.5. They were sired by Musgrave 316 Exclusive.

 

The award for the top Carcass Merit Index Junior Bull was presented to Phyllis and Dave Kohli, Kohli Farms, Circleville, OH. SimAngus bull #165 had a Carcass Merit Index of 121.9. He was sired by G A R Home Town.

 

The award for the top Carcass Merit Index Senior Bull was presented to Cassie and Chad Bontrager, Bontrager Family Cattle, New Paris, IN. Angus bull #159 had a Carcass Merit Index of 116.4. He was sired by S S Assurance E52.

The award for the top Sale Index Junior Bull went to Valhalla Black Angus, Colfax, WI. Angus bull #16 had a Sale Index of 85.0. He was sired by SG Salvation.
