Awards for 2024 Winter Test

The following awards were presented at the 2024 Winter Test bull sale on April 26, 2025. The award-winning bulls are also listed in the IBEP Hall of Fame, and all were eligible for sale. Awards were presented by Andrew Stewart, President of IBEP.

 

Two awards were presented to Greives Herefords, West Lafayette, IN. The Top Sale Index Bull (Junior Division and Overall) was Hereford #97. His Sale Index was 86.0. He was sired by KCF Bennett Monument J338, and sold for $9,500. The Top Performance Index Junior Bull was Hereford #96. His Performance Index was 132.2. He was sired by JW 1857 Merit 21134. He was not consigned to the sale.

 

The award for Top Carcass Merit Senior Bull was presented to Larry Winemiller, Washington, IL. Angus bull #139 had a Carcass Merit Index of 118.0. He was sired by GAR Holy Fire and sold for $9,500.

 

The award for Top Carcass Merit Junior Bull was presented to Wynn's Angus Farm, Ashland, OH. Angus bull #68 had a Carcass Merit Index of 122.5. He was sired by SAV Magnum 1335 and sold for $11,750.

 

The award for Top Performance Indexing Get-of-Sire was presented to Underwood Angus Farms (bulls #128 and 130) and Neil Underwood (bull #124). The three Angus bulls had an average Performance Index of 106.5. They were sired by WAF Regiment 277 and sold for an average of $7,000.
