Integrated Crop-Livestock Systems Study

Are you interested in integrating livestock with crops on your vegetable farm?

Purdue University's Sustainable Horticulture Lab is leading an Integrated Crop-Livestock Systems study on organic farms and wants to connect with you! The study aims to determine the impact of these integrated systems on soil health, microbial communities, and food pathogens on the farm. The lab will also explore economic feasibility of these systems.

Connect with us in two ways:

Participating farms would be required to raise chickens or other livestock, but not required to be certified organic. A paired strip trial (at least one strip) with and without livestock would be set up for the collection of soil and crop samples.
