Alexandra Duffy is a master's student in Dr. Douglas Richmond's Turfgrass Entomology and Applied Ecology laboratory at Purdue University. She is studying the chemical ecology of billbugs, a complex of weevils in the genus Sphenophorus that are increasingly being recognized as major pests of managed turfgrass. Her research consists of volatile and contact pheromone characterization as well as investigating feeding preference of the hunting and bluegrass billbugs for cool-season or warm-season turf varieties.

Alexandra came to Purdue University in 2014 after receiving a B.S. in Biology (Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology) and a minor in Genetics from North Carolina State University.
