Jo Thomas has been with Purdue University since 2014. Currently, she serves as an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students in the Department of Agricultural Economics. In this position she advises undergraduates in academic, career and personal planning. She manages the development of student success stories which highlight student accomplishments and serve as recruiting tools for prospective students.
Jo is also involved in the campus community, through professional organizations and student support roles. As a Faculty Fellow, Jo works with Residence Assistants in Meredith Hall to provide informal opportunities for engagement between students and staff. She also serves as a campus coordinator and marketing committee member for the Green Dot Bystander Intervention Training Program.
Prior to joining the Agricultural Economics Department, Jo worked as an Extension Educator for Purdue Extension, specializing in 4-H Youth Development and Agriculture and Natural Resources. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Murray State University where she was a member of the Women’s Rodeo Team.
