Student Gains Experience in Marketing Through Summer Internship

This past summer, Thomas Letsinger (Senior; Agribusiness Marketing; Tipton, IN) worked in Indianapolis as a Management Consulting Intern for FLM Harvest. In his role, Thomas had many responsibilities. They included executing business services, like strategic planning, customer research surveys, and data analysis; synthesizing client sales data and researching market trends to build business cases supporting the initial development of four product promotions; and facilitating the process of growing and enhancing business for the agency through their Seed 2 Succeed pro bono program. Thomas greatly enjoyed working with his fellow interns on the Seed 2 Succeed program. The program allows two companies to work with FLM Harvest on developing marketing plans free of charge. Through this internship, Thomas learned a great deal about ag marketing, how he could fit into an agency in the future and helped him clarify what he hopes to do after graduation. He would also advise other students to venture out of their comfort zone, saying, "I had never had a marketing/communications internship and I knew FLM was where I wanted to be!"
