Faculty Profile
Casey, or “Dr. Casey” as 4-H’ers call him, provides leadership to the Indiana 4-H program, which serves youth in each of Indiana’s 92 counties. Casey began his Extension career in 2009 as a State Specialist working with military-connected audiences and a dual appointment as a 4-H/Air Force Youth Specialist. He has trained or presented to more than 3,500 individuals from 36 states and territories. He has coordinated programs that served 8,076 individuals from 53 states and territories and six countries. 
In addition to serving on multiple teams to create national assessment tools, he has facilitated workshops about using data creatively and simply to support hundreds of people nationwide. He has secured more than $10.4 million in grants, gifts, and donations. He has authored or co-authored 40 publications including two book chapters, six peer-reviewed articles, and 21 curricula or guides. His leadership of military teen leadership camping experiences led him to join the Air Force Reserve. He currently serves as deputy chief, public affairs in the 94th Airlift Wing at Dobbins Air Reserve Base.

Scholarship of and in Cooperative Extension, 4-H, and community engagement; program evaluation; survey development; and boundary-spanning. Other research and Extension interests include relational contracting, social media marketing strategies, program development, and camping.
