Claudia Bland
Claudia Bland is Master’s student under the supervision of Dr. Bill Johnson. She grew up in Hudson, IL, and obtained her B.S. in Agriculture Science from Western Illinois University in 2020. Her research focuses on controlling populations of waterhemp that are segregating for resistance to the synthetic auxin herbicide dicamba. Her research objectives include:
- Screening waterhemp populations from Indiana that were not controlled in-field by dicamba;
- Conduct herbicide-resistance screens on one problematic population to develop its resistance profile;
- Evaluate the growth habits of the aforementioned problematic population;
- Evaluate herbicide programs in Xtendflex and E3 soybean to determine the best control tactics for multiple resistant waterhemp.
