Estevan Cason
Estevan Cason is a Ph.D. student under the guidance of Dr. Bryan Young. Originally from southeastern Brazil, he received his B.S. in Agronomy from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP), Brazil, in 2023. In May 2026, he completed his M.S. in Weed Science at Purdue University under the guidance of Dr. Bill Johnson. His master’s research focused on weed management and residual herbicide persistence in early planted soybean. His Ph.D. research focuses on the soil persistence of novel a residual herbicide, as well as herbicides recently introduced to the U.S. soybean and corn markets. Additionally, his research evaluates crop response and the carryover potential of these residual herbicides in cover crop systems.
