Zhe Ren
Zhe Ren is currently employed as a postdoctoral scientist within the Young lab, where his primary focus lies in exploring the interactions within herbicide modes of action and applying statistical tools to enhance weed management strategies. He earned his PhD degree in plant biology under the mentorship of Dr. David J. Gibson at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, IL. During his doctoral studies, Zhe focused on integrated weed management in agroecosystems in the U.S. while also delving into the application of ecological principles to restoration across the North American Tallgrass Prairie. Prior to this, he attained his MSc degree in botany from the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where his research investigated the spatial analysis of community dynamics. Zhe possesses a fervent enthusiasm for combining ecological principles with weed science. Furthermore, he takes joy in sharing his knowledge as an instructor of record for introductory biostatistics courses.
