ABOUT THE DASHBOARD
The trends in Food Sector, Wages and Hours Worked can be explored with a timeline from Jan. 2006 to the current Month/Year. The user can choose the date range, the sectors – Food Wholesalers, Food Processing, Grocery and other Food Retailers, Restaurants and Food Service – and the industries for each of these sectors. The three tabs explore Hourly wages, Weekly earnings and Hours worked per week for the Food Sector. You can switch between the nominal and inflation-adjusted values in the Hourly wages and the Weekly earnings tabs.
HOW TO USE IT
The user selects the date range and the sector/industry to view the Hourly wages, Weekly Earnings and Hours worked per week (3 tabs in the bottom center). The choices are synchronized between the tabs. The Hourly wages tab visualizes the wages earned for the time period and the sector/Industry choices (switch between the Hourly wages (nominal) and Hourly wages (inflation-adjusted) buttons directly below the visual. The Weekly earnings tab is set up in a similar way. The Hours worked per week tab visualizes the hours worked per week for the chosen date range and sector/industry choices.
VARIABLE DEFINITIONS
Date: Data available from 1/1/2006.
Sales Per Capita: Divide Total Sales by Population.
Weekly earnings: Multiply Hourly wages by Hours worked per week.
Hourly wages (Inflation adjusted): Divide Hourly earnings by CPI ratio.
Weekly earnings (Inflation adjusted): Divide Weekly earnings by CPI ratio.
