Mandela Washington Fellows at Purdue
The College of Agriculture will host its sixth cohort of Mandela Washington Fellows (MWF) in summer 2024. The fellowship is a flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative, which empowers participants through academic coursework, leadership training, mentoring, networking, professional opportunities and local community engagement.
Purdue’s MWF program, the Leadership in Business Institute, emphasizes agriculture-related innovations and businesses, as well as engineering. It’s a campus-wide collaboration led by International Programs in Agriculture, the Office of Global Engineering Programs and the colleges of Agriculture and Engineering. MWF is a program of the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. government and administered by IREX, the International Research and Exchanges Board.
