Fungi Hunters Uncover Hidden Worlds

Little is known about the biology and ecology of Guyana, a small nation on the northeastern corner of South America that hosts some of the world’s last remaining virgin rainforests. The team has published descriptions of about 140 new species of mushrooms and eight new genera so far. A new genus is a rare discovery in biology.
