The Hall lab

The Hall lab is interested in molecular mechanisms of fungal pathogenesis and the search for new antifungal drug targets. Invasive fungal infections are a serious world health problem, killing over 1.5 million people annually. Increases in human susceptibility and pathogen drug resistance necessitate the identification of new therapeutic strategies. We focus primarily on the roles of phosphatases and kinases in virulence of Candida pathogens.
