Dr. Hall received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and his Ph.D. from the Biology Department at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. He conducted post-doctoral research in the Lab of Molecular Genetics at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at UNC - Chapel Hill. In 2004 Dr. Hall joined the faculty in the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University.

Post-docs

Aayush Aayush

Aayush Aayush , Ph.D.

Aayush is using proteomics tools to study how Cdc14 phosphatase promotes cell wall integrity and hyphal development in C. albicans.

Graduate Students

Michelle Lihon

Michelle Lihon

Michelle joined the lab in May, 2023. Her project is focused on characterizing the systemic response to echincocanin antifungal drugs and other cell wall stresses and how Cdc14 phosphatase promotes cell wall integrity in Candida species.
Kevin Velazquez-Marrero

Kevin Velazquez-Marrero

Kevin joined the lab in March, 2023. He is working on 1) identification and development of Cdc14 phosphatase inhibitors for use against fungal pathogens and 2) further characterization of Cdc14 phosphatase specificity and catalytic mechanism.
Justin Gregor

Justin Gregor

Justin is co-supervised by Dr. Hall and Dr. Scott Briggs. He is working on establishing auxin-inducible degradation technology for protein functional characterization in Candida glabrata and Candida auris and studying the importance of Cdc14 phosphatase for virulence in these pathogens.
Emily Danzeisen

Emily Danzeisen

Emily joined the lab in January 2024. She is working on developing and applying the auxin-inducible degradation system as a tool for protein characterization and drug discovery in fungal pathogens.
Brielle Skrutskie

Brielle Skrutskie

Brielle joined the lab in January 2024. She is characterizing functions and substrates of Cdc14 phosphatase in regulating hyphal development and other virulence-related processes in Candida albicans.
