Research Interests
My research focuses on how microorganisms influence ecosystem productivity and the flow of plant-derived ‘green’ carbon. We aim to use ecological insights and biological innovations to enhance natural resource use in managed ecosystems, explore new biotechnologies, and understand our planet’s natural history.Student Opportunities:
- Molecular Biology: DNA extractions, PCR, DNA sequencing, using a liquid-handling robot
- Microbiology: Culturing and isolating microorganisms
- Bioinformatics: Analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data
Outreach Experience
While I don't have an official extension appointment, I collaborate with extension and conservation agents to share knowledge about soil biology.
