Research Interests:
As an Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at Purdue University, I focus on the power of place-based planning to support community land use, recreation, and conservation decision-making. My research and teaching emphasize an applied landscape planning approach, where I integrate social-ecological science into the design process to create landscape transformations that balance the needs of both human and natural systems. I teach courses on ecological planning, open space design, the professional practice of landscape architecture, and a capstone course where students apply research and design methodologies to address sustainable development challenges.
Research Opportunities:
I typically hire students as hourly employees for projects. Typical tasks include planning research, community survey analysis, and environmental design.
