FNR Career Fair - Employer Resources

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! ALL EMPLOYER SPACES HAVE BEEN RESERVED. We have a FNR Career Fair Employer and FNR Faculty & Staff Networking Event that you are welcome to attend. It is scheduled for Thursday, February 21, 2019 at The Trails Banquet Facility from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reservations are required. The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources at Purdue University invites you to connect with students and faculty and share your internship and full-time opportunities. The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources offers four majors: Aquatic Sciences, Forestry, Wildlife, and Sustainable Biomaterials: Process and Product Design. There are 260 undergraduate students and 88 graduate students in the department. Purdue Memorial UnionPlan to attend the career fair and make connections with these outstanding students! Students from College of Agriculture and specific Purdue departments will be invited to attend the FNR Career Fair.

If you need lodging, you may want to consider the Purdue Memorial Union Club Hotel. It is connected to the Purdue Memorial Union.

Grant Street Parking Garage

You will park in the Graduate Street Garage. A parking pass is required to park in this garage. You will been sent the one-day swipe parking pass. This pass will be valid for Friday, February 22, 2019.

Please note: if you are driving a state or federally owned vehicle you do not need an “A” parking pass to park almost anywhere on campus. The Grant Street Parking Garage is an exception to this rule. You are required to have the swipe, parking pass.

Schedule of Activities
Transporting Materials to Purdue Memorial Union
8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time)
Employers will transport all materials from the Grant Street Parking Garage to the Purdue Memorial Union. There is a tunnel or above ground crosswalk. The Department of Forestry and Natural Resources will have students available to assist. Most of you have already indicated whether you need help, but if you change your mind the day of the event, help is available. The students will be located in the stairway entrance at the southwest (SW) corner of the parking garage.

Employer Registration and Set-up
8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time)
Purdue Memorial Union (PMU) South Ballroom – South Entrance
The PMU has three floors (ground, main, and second). The FNR Career Fair is on the main floor. Take the elevator or steps to the main floor. The South Ballroom south entrance is located at the end of a side hallway – just past the interior stairway located in the center of the south hallway. You will turn right to enter the south entrance hallway.

The registration table will be located outside of the South Ballroom south entrance. Name badges will be provided for registered representatives. You are welcome to use the prepared name badge or your own badge.

Set-up Instructions
A 6-foot table with black table covering will be furnished. Table tents with company names will be placed on the tables. Chairs will be provided for all company representatives who registered for the career fair.

PMU provides a limited number of electric outlets. If you indicated that you need an electrical outlet, we will work hard to ensure that we can accommodate your request. If you happen to have a power cord, please pack it with your display materials.

Simple Breakfast on the Go
Breakfast food, fruit, and drinks will be available during the set-up. A table will be set up inside the South Ballroom south entrance. Drinks remain in this area throughout the career fair to ensure that you remain hydrated. For those of you who are diehard coffee drinkers, a Starbucks is located on the ground floor.

THE BIG EVENT -- FNR Career Fair
9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (EST)
Purdue Memorial Union South Ballroom
The west entrance doors will be opened at 9:00 a.m. Students will enter and leave through the west entrance.

Boxed lunches will be provided for registered representatives. Employer displays will remain open during lunch. If you need to stretch your legs, you are welcome to eat your lunch in any of the lounge areas located along the south end of PMU or at the top of the steps of the west entrance of PMU. There are many tables located on the ground floor in the food court area.

If you would like to reserve space for interviews before or after the Career Fair, please indicate this in your response with your registration. We have reserved three interview spaces to use during the career fair – PMU 256 (1 interview space), PMU 258 (1 interview space), and Stewart Center 310 (9 interview spaces). We plan to have rooms scheduled for individuals who indicate their interest. If you decide to conduct interviews the day of the career fair and didn’t request a room prior to the start of the career fair, please contact in person Christine Hofmeyer or one of the FNR Ambassadors. The ambassador will contact Christine to address your needs.

Tear-down and Transport to Grant Street Parking Garage
2:00 p.m. – 2:25 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time)
The Purdue Memorial Union has firm protocols regarding room use. The South Ballroom must be totally vacated no later than 2:25 p.m. to allow PMU staff to prepare the room for the next event that starts at 5:00 p.m. There is no flexibility regarding this timeline.
Employers will transport all materials from the Purdue Memorial Union to the Grant Street Parking Garage. Students will be available to assist. Students will be located at the south entrance of the South Ballroom

Table space is limited; please Christine Hofmeyer (chofmeye@purdue.edu) or Tami Conn (tconn@purdue.edu) as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration.
