Ensuring the food safety and quality of the fish supply in Bangladesh remains a major challenge. The use of illegal practices and the presence of harmful microorganisms consistently compromise the integrity of food items throughout the fish value chain. This paper describes the results of a study conducted in Bangladesh to estimate consumers’ willingness to pay for safer fish using an experimental auction method.
