Ag Alumni in New Zealand - March 26 - April 8, 2025

  • Join fellow Purdue Ag Alumni on a 14-day adventure to majestic New Zealand's north island
  • Visit agricultural and tourism destinations focused on natural resources, wildlife, livestock, vegetable and fruit production, and culture.
  • Special visits to Cambridge Stud Farm, Hobbiton Movie Set, and the Mitai Maori Village Cultural Experience and Dinner.
  • Connect with fellow Purdue Agriculture alumni, faculty, staff and your in-country guide throughout the trip.
  • Discuss preparations, guidelines, and overview of our destination in two pre-trip information sessions (virtual).
  • This tour will be hosted by staff from the Ag Alumni office, as well as Peter Hirst, associate director of international programs for Purdue's College of Agriculture, as well as a professor in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. For the last 30 years he has conducted research on various aspects on free fruit physiology and culture. Peter also serves as the faculty leader for a student study abroad Maymester trip to New Zealand each year to study New Zealand agriculture. Peter has a broad understanding of agriculture in New Zealand and the United States, having grown up on an orchard in New Zealand and being faculty at Purdue for over 25 years.
