The Natural Resources and Environmental Science Program seeks to recognize alumni who have (i) made significant professional contributions to environmental management and sustainability and (ii) demonstrated evidence of leadership and commitment to community service outside of their professional activities, including through community service work or other activities that make the nominees a credit to the NRES program.

Nominees must have earned a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Science from Purdue University. We will accept nominations for two award levels distinguished by the number of years since the nominee has received a degree from the program, including:

  • Mid-Career: Nominees must have earned their degree between 2002 and 2017 and, in addition to the criteria listed above, must exhibit potential for future professional growth and service to their profession and to society.

  • Lifetime: Nominees must have earned their degree in or prior to 2001.

Nominations for both awards are due December 7, 2026. The nomination packet should include a completed nomination form, the nominee's vita or resume (if available), and a minimum of one single-page letter of nomination (although more are welcome).
