Grower Advisory Board

A Grower Advisory Board meeting will be held on November 19 at 3:00 p.m. at the Southwest Purdue Agriculture Center. Purdue Extension specialists will be present to meet with growers, discuss production challenges, share current research activities, and outline future plans. The research team is eager to gather input from growers to help guide our efforts. We are still looking to fill additional seats on the advisory board. Upcoming Winter Meetings

Our Southern Indiana Vegetable Growers Annual Meeting, held in conjunction with Illiana Watermelon Association Convention (IWA), will take place on January 17 in French Lick, Indiana. The meeting agenda will be posted on the SWPAP Grow Connect webpage as soon as it becomes available. Additional details about the event can be found on the IWA website.

The Indiana Horticulture Conference offers another valuable opportunity for vegetable growers in southern Indiana to stay informed. This conference will be held on January 14-15, 2025, in Danville, Indiana. More information can be found on the Indiana Horticulture Conference webpage.

Watermelon Variety Trials

We will no longer be hosting the variety trial meeting. Instead, an update on the trial results will be provided at the annual growers meeting in French Lick.  The written report will be posted on the Indiana Watermelon and Melon Variety Trials webpage by end of 2024.
