About the Role
The Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet (EEC) is dedicated to protecting Kentucky’s natural resources. As an Environmental Scientist II in the Division of Water, Water Quality Branch, you'll analyze and monitor water quality to support conservation and public health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain workflows for water quality data analysis and reporting.
- Use automated tools to enhance data analysis across surface water programs.
- Create visualizations and maps to support water quality standards and pollution mitigation.
- Experience managing environmental data.
- Proficiency in R or Python for data analysis and visualization.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub and data management best practices.
- Knowledge of water quality, pollution biology, and data collection methods.

- Education: Bachelor’s in natural, biological, or physical science (or 20+ semester hours in these fields).

- EEC participates in E-Verify. Six-month probationary period applies.
