Water Policy Intern

Location: Remote (based in Chicago, IL)
Pay: $20/hour - 12 weeks minimum - 25 hours/week

About the Role:
Elevate is seeking a Water Policy Intern to support research and outreach related to water affordability, infrastructure, and efficiency. The intern will collaborate with the Policy and Water Programs teams and report to the Water Policy Director.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research national and Illinois water utility conditions and capacity gaps
• Evaluate current water affordability and technical assistance programs
• Support development of a statewide water affordability strategy
• Track relevant state and federal legislation
• Assist with data collection, outreach, and other assigned tasks

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong research and writing skills
• Detail-oriented and proactive communicator
• Familiarity with water issues a plus
• Current student or recent graduate
