Communications Intern - (SUMMER 2026) 

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: Up to 12 Weeks - Expected January 20 - April 10, 2026

Compensation: Up to 40 hours per week at $17.95 per hour

The Communications Intern will support and learn from the entire communications team, and will assist in drafting and distributing content across all of the communications team’s platforms and audiences, which may include drafting blog posts, press statements and releases, social media copy and the weekly tipsheet. The Communications Intern will also play a key role supporting the earned media team by distributing LCV’s daily news clips to LCV staff across the country, maintaining press lists, gathering content at press events, and pitching press as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Preferred - Communications coursework, work experience, extracurriculars, or experience with social media.
  • Skills: Required - Highly organized; strong attention to detail; excellent written and oral communications skills; strong research skills; exhibits solid judgment; critical thinking skills; able to work independently and as a team; able to handle multiple tasks; self-starter; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite. Preferred - Experience with press, graphic design, or social media.
