Park Allies Naturalist Lead Position


Position Details

  • Term: 450–1700 hours (approx. 3–10 months), September 2024–August 2025
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, with some evenings and weekends required
  • Location: City of West Lafayette
  • Compensation: Living allowance up to $25,760 and Segal Education Award up to $7,395 (based on term length and successful completion)
Position Summary
Join the Park Allies AmeriCorps program to support environmental education, conservation, and park programming in West Lafayette. Responsibilities include leading nature programs, maintaining trails, assisting with habitat restoration, and engaging the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead educational programs, nature walks, and workshops
  • Support park conservation efforts, including invasive species removal and native plantings
  • Plan and oversee service projects with community partners
  • Maintain park facilities and assist with trail upkeep
  • Engage with volunteers and community members
Eligibility Requirements
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrolled in or completed relevant education or training
  • U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Experience in leadership, environmental education, or youth engagement preferred

Physical Requirements
