Park Allies Nature Camp Naturalist


Term: 450 hours (May–August 2025)
Location: West Lafayette, IN
Stipend: Up to $6,000 + AmeriCorps Education Award ($1,956.35)

About the Role:
The Park Allies Nature Camp Naturalist will support Lilly Nature Camp and park conservation efforts, engaging children in environmental education and outdoor activities. Members gain hands-on experience in conservation, education, and natural resource management while fostering community connections with nature.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead nature-based activities, hikes, and educational programs
  • Ensure camper safety and facilitate outdoor recreation
  • Assist with conservation projects, invasive species removal, and greenspace maintenance
  • Communicate with parents and track camper needs
  • Maintain safety standards and emergency protocols
Who Should Apply?
Ideal candidates have experience in youth programs, outdoor education, or conservation. Must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, and able to pass a background check. A valid driver’s license is required.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, some evenings & weekends required
Physical Demands: Outdoor work in various weather conditions, lifting up to 50 lbs
