Seasonal Technicians – Entomology & Agroecology (Purdue University, IN)
Join the Kaplan Insect Ecology Lab for a hands-on summer research experience in pest management, pollination, and insect biodiversity! We are hiring two full-time seasonal technicians from May to September/October 2025.

What We Offer:
- Hands-on research in agricultural ecosystems
- Field and lab experience (insect surveys, rearing, pinning, data entry)
- Travel to Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa (expenses covered)
- $18/hour
- Duties (Project Dependent):
- Survey natural enemies & pollinators
- Monitor pest densities & plant health
- Conduct biocontrol agent applications
- Pollinate flowers, harvest fruit, and analyze pollen
- Process field samples & enter data
Essential:
- Undergraduate degree (or pending) in Entomology, Ecology, Agriculture, or related field
- Valid driver’s license & flexible schedule
- Ability to work independently & in hot weather
- Attention to detail & enthusiasm
- Insect identification, ecological surveys, or DNA analysis experience
