Student Trainee (Soil Conservation)

Summary: This paid internship offers students (high school to graduate level) hands-on experience in soil and water conservation practices under the Pathways Internship Program. The program aims to develop skills and knowledge for potential future employment in soil conservation.

Eligibility:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, enrolled at least half-time in an accredited institution (GPA 2.5+).
  • Applicants must have relevant academic backgrounds (e.g., Agriculture, Soil Science, Environmental Science).
  • Completion of 640 work hours is required before graduation.
Duties:
  • Assist in soil and water conservation planning, including tasks such as surveying, setting construction stakes, and operating field equipment.
  • Receive on-the-job training and exposure to conservation programs.
  • Develop competencies for potential conversion to a full-time role after the internship.
Requirements:
  • U.S. citizenship and Selective Service registration (if applicable).
  • Must be in good academic standing and able to work full-time during the internship period.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
